Violette Rainbow is a female unicorn pony who is a filly in the fifth generation of My Little Pony. She first appears in issue 14 of the My Little Pony comics. She is described in the comic solicitation synopsis as being "Izzy's most favorite crafting protégé", as being excited to visit Maretime Bay, and as self-conscious as a result of her vitiligo fur. She later appears in 2D animated media in My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale season 2 and gets her only speaking voice in Swirlpool Starlight.
Personality[]
She's a bright and creative unicorn filly, but she's always worried about how other pony view her because of her vitiligo. She's clumsy with her new unicorn power, which gets her into accidents often. She got bullied in Bridlewood because of how she looked. After getting reassured by Izzy and making friends with the zebra Skye, she's shown to be a lot more confident and even sassy at times, while still being very friendly and understanding to others.
Appearance[]
Violette is a purplish brown unicorn with white spots she has due to vitiligo, long lavender dreadlocks that swoop over to her right and she has a cutie mark with cyan heart-shaped paint board with two paintbrushes. From Sunny Starscout, she had coat similar to an ancient race of ponies called "paint ponies" who practiced artistic healing magic.

My Little Pony[]
First appears in My Little Pony (comics) Issue 14, Violette visits her craft teacher Izzy Moonbow in Maretime Bay. Violette is nervous about meeting new ponies because of her vitiligo-like appearance. Due to her clumsiness, she causes a small fire in Mane Melody and blamed by Pipp and Posey, running off in tears. She runs into a pair of zebras, Mariama and Skye, who sympathize with her. Mariama gives Violette a potion to let her "fit in" and instructs her to use it only in small doses, but Violette ignores her warning. Violette's coat appears normal at first but quickly goes wrong. As Violette runs back to Mane Melody, Pipp apologizes to her when Mariama and Skye enter. It is revealed that their meeting with Violette earlier was planned by Izzy to give Violette a lesson and later reverses the effect with Violette and Skye becoming best friends again.
My Little Pony: Black, White & Blue[]
Violette, Skye, the Mane 6 and the pippsqueaks gather at the Crystal Brighthouse for a sleepover screening of an old black-and-white television series called Bewitched, and had a party pranking and playing games with each other. The next morning, they found out all the color except black, white and blue has disappeared from Maretime Bay. Being inspired by the show Betwitched last night, Violette suggests that they put on a fashion show before the color came back, while other ponies investigate the situation. The show is a success and it cheers up everypony before the colors come back.

In Icy Prints, she debuted in the first episode of the second season with a non-speaking role.
In Swirlpool Starlight, she followed the Breezies along with Izzy and Misty to the Swirlpool Starlight. After stepping into the magic Swirlpool, Violette envisions a lush, green Bridlewood with herself as a gardener. Later, she helped comforting Misty, so that Misty could face the magic Swirlpool again.
Finally, she makes a cameo appearance in the unfinished and unreleased episode Got to Trot.
