Thunder Flap is a male Pegasus pony in the fifth generation of My Little Pony. He is a royal guard and works with his partner, Zoom Zephyrwing.
Personality[]
He is a royal guard who is a bit more afraid of dangers than his work partner Zoom Zephyrwing. He can get clumsy and forget the rules.
He is shown in Mare Family Mare Problems as being able to throat-sing.
Appearance[]
He is a spring green color with white feathering and a white blaze. He has grey hooves.
He is seen wearing a silver and gold guard necklace and helmet. His hat has white hair.

He and Zoom Zephyrwing are patrolling just beyond Zephyr Heights when he is suddenly startled by the sight of Sunny and Izzy. He cowers behind Zoom in fright while she explains that earth ponies are harmless, but when he questions about the unicorn and confesses that he never read the "guard guide", he stays back while Zoom deals with Izzy herself. Thunder and Zoom then escort Sunny and Izzy to the castle. On the elevator, Sunny continuously asks Thunder questions that he struggles to answer until Zoom reminds him that he shouldn't answer anything. When presenting the two prisoners to the queen, Thunder excitedly points out that they deployed the "shield" (a tennis ball on Izzy's horn).

Thunder is among the guards that Sunny and Izzy need to avoid while sneaking through the castle. At one point, he is evidently distracted by his phone. He is also seen guiding Queen Haven when she is arrested, and alongside other guards, follows her to Bridlewood after she escapes. Thunder also chases her to Maretime Bay, where he is then present when the crystals unite and magic is returned to Equestria.
My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale[]

Thunder appears in the episode Sisters Take Flight where he helps unveil the Pipp and Zipp statue that Queen Haven is presenting. When Pegasi are crashing everywhere, he gets knocked into the sky until he grabs hold of the face of a giant Zipp balloon. However, the balloon ends up exploding and he is seen being blasted through the air. He is later seen struggling to carry the many bags Pipp packed to move away from Zephyr Heights.

He also appears in Zipp Gets Her Wings as a trainee at Zipp's makeshift flight school. He is shown to be a fearful and very clumsy flier, crashing into the obstacle course or other ponies, until Zipp and her friends help him fly by jumping onto air pumps. By the end of the webisode, he is a great flier.

In Roots of All Evil Pt. 1, Thunder has his cutie mark stolen by Opaline. In Roots of All Evil Pt. 2, he later joins in everypony in singing in support of Sunny, and regains his cutie mark upon Opaline's defeat.
