Top Remodel is the second episode in Chapter 4 of My Little Pony: Make Your Mark and the ninth episode overall.
Synopsis[]
While the ponies decide how to renovate the abandoned Canterlogic building, Zipp attempts to decode a cryptic message from Twilight Sparkle.
Plot[]
The episode begins with the Mane 5 exploring the Canterlogic factory, which has been left abandoned after Sprout and his mother Phyllis closed it down. As Pipp enjoys the spooky atmosphere, much to Hitch's discomfort, Sunny and Izzy decide to transform the abandoned building into something new for all of Maretime Bay to appreciate.
Sunny and Izzy go to ask around town for ideas on what to turn the Canterlogic factory into, Pipp and Hitch clear out any "ghosts" that may be haunting the factory, and Zipp heads back to the Crystal Brighthouse to continue deciphering Princess Twilight Sparkle's foreboding message. As Zipp plays back Twilight's message on her phone, Misty spies on her from nearby and overhears Twilight's message. She goes to inform Opaline of what she has learned; realizing Zipp is getting close to finding out who she is, Opaline commands Misty to double her efforts in stealing Sparky so that Opaline can use his dragonfire to get more powerful.
Sunny and Izzy get a lot of ideas from ponies around town for renovating the Canterlogic factory, many of which clash with each other; Sunny is determined to take everyone's ideas into consideration and create a space that all can enjoy. Meanwhile, as Pipp and Hitch explore more of the rundown factory, something watches them from the shadows.
The individual watching Hitch and Pipp from the shadows is revealed to be Sprout, who saw the Mane 5 go into the abandoned Canterlogic factory and followed them to make sure they did not do anything suspicious inside his and his mother's old family business. Hitch and Pipp believe Sprout to have been the one "haunting" the old factory, but when Izzy turns on the factory's lights, it turns out to be a pack of pegamice that came from Zephyr Heights out of boredom. Through the song With Each Other, Hitch and Pipp convince the mice to leave the factory and return home.
Back at the Crystal Brighthouse, Zipp attempts to decipher Twilight Sparkle's message and figure out what she was trying to say in the portions of her message that are corrupted. Through her detective reasoning, she deduces that the pony who wants to steal all of Equestria's magic must be able to handle a large amount of magic themselves and therefore must be an Alicorn.
Sunny and Izzy attempt to renovate the factory interior in accordance with all the ideas they received from the ponies of Maretime Bay, but they are unable to realize a single, cohesive vision because of all the conflicting ideas. After getting some sage advice from Izzy, Sunny realizes that she cannot please everyone and must use her own judgment to make the best decision she can.
At the end of the day, Sunny and Izzy present the new Canterlogic building to their friends and Sprout: a multipurpose, multimedia community center dubbed "Canterlove Studios". The ponies are all impressed with the building's transformation – including Sprout, who reminds the Mane 5 that the building is still technically under his and his mother's ownership. Meanwhile, at Opaline's castle, Misty makes an imaginary friend out of junk, to whom she vents her frustrations about Opaline and her growing misgivings about deceiving her friends.
