The Lone Alicorn is the seventh episode in Season 2 of My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale, and the seventy-seventh episode overall. It was released on February 22, 2024.

Synopsis[]

Sunny and Zipp discover more information about alicorns during their visit to Opaline's castle's ruins.

Plot[]

The episode begins with the Mane 6 transformed into alicorns, and flying through the clouds. It's all fun and joy, but things don't end well when their powers fade and everyone falls into a dark pit at the bottom of the clouds. It is soon revealed that this event is just a nightmare of Sunny, who is lonely, believing herself to be the only alicorn left in Equestria. Zipp walks in, and after Sunny tells her about her nightmare, decides to ease Sunny's spirits by finding a clue about the alicorns; so she recommends going to the location of the last known alicorn: Opaline's castle.

After Opaline's defeat, the castle has been left in tatters and is seemingly abandoned, giving Sunny and Zipp a chance to find clues. Hopeful, the two girls observe that the castle is now a place where Raccoonicorns gather to dance to My Bananas, played by a Raccoonicorn DJ.

While exploring the castle, Sunny and Zipp find Opaline's old wooden figurines of the Mane 6 and several old Opaline paintings. While jokingly imitating Opaline on her throne, Zipp is in danger of being crushed by the collapsing ceiling, thankfully Sunny saves her.

Without finding any relevant clues about the alicorns, Sunny thinks about giving up, but Zipp boosts her spirits. The results are seen moments later as the girls find a tapestry with the alicorn mark and the Starscout crest, leading them to believe they've found a clue.

But before they can pat themselves on the back, the noise caused by the raccoonicorn party causes Opaline's castle to collapse, so Sunny and Zipp escape and rescue all the raccoonicorns. Once outside, the castle crumbles and the remains are lost to the abyss below. But Sunny regains hope that she is not the only alicorn in Equestria and Zipp promises to find them wherever they are.
