The special was originally planned to be released in March 2024, but it was not been released until April 4th.
Synopsis[]
Izzy is feeling a sense of creative block (Blockywockys as she calls it), and goes on her own personal quest to regain her creativity. Meanwhile, the evil snow leopard, Allura is still on her search for the Nova Charm.
Plot[]
The Mane 6 rise bright and early for breakfast, before heading to Maretime Bay to do their daily duties and bringing ponies cheer. However, Izzy is not having a great day compare to other ponies. In the forest, Allura is trying to find a place to settle, but the hot weather melts away the ice. By the evening, Izzy realizes she has creative block, which she calls the "Blockywockys".
As Izzy's friends help her to regain her inspiration, Twitch helps Allura find an ideal cave to take shelter. After Zipp's suggestion, Izzy decides to go on a quest by herself to cure her Blockwockys. Hoping to brighten Izzy's day, her friends use their cutie mark magic, channeling Izzy's magic through her Nova Charm to open a portal, which takes Izzy back to Starlight Ridge.
In Starlight Ridge, Izzy is met by an auroricorn named Stardance. Izzy asks Stardance if she has the cure to the Blockywockys, but she don't know what they are. However, she invites Izzy to dance with the stars, telling her that play is always the way. Izzy is so caught up in her dance, that she accidentally opens a portal and teleports herself into the Dragon Lands.
Falling from the skies in the Dragon Lands, Tumble catches Izzy and bring her to Blaize. To help Izzy, Blaize gets Izzy to do a trust fall exercise, teaching her to not worry how things will turn out. Izzy's excitement activates the Nova Charm to create another portal.
Now underwater, Izzy enters the Jade Sea and quickly dons on her underwater gear. She stumbles into a seapony named Destiny. She tells Izzy that laughter is an effective cure and offers to teach her how to make kelp braids. The magical force of their bond makes Izzy accidentally create yet another portal and get sent in.
Izzy finds herself back in Maretime Bay, satisfied that she's regained her creative spirit. Allura spots Izzy and notices the Nova Charm. Izzy sees the dilapidated remains of the fairgrounds, and sees this an opportunity to exercise her creativity. Her powerful magic summons the rest of the Mane Six, and together they channel the Nova Charm to restore the fairgrounds. With Nova Charm divided into six pieces, Allura's chance of leaving Maretime Bay is once again ruined.
The Mane Six each have their own attractions in the fairgrounds. Izzy self-reflects on what she had been missing, then shows her friends the braids she made with Destiny. Sunny proposes that the fairground be called the Boardtrot. With that, the Mane Six enjoy all the place has to offer.
