Sander is male background Earth pony who first appeared in My Little Pony: A New Generation. He is named through dubbing credits in the episode Make Your Mark.

Sander is a male earth pony with a light grey coat and platinum blonde mane and tail. His eye color differs between what media he is in. In My Little Pony: A New Generation, his eye color is purple, however in My Little Pony: Make Your Mark, they are green. He has sliver colored hooves and his cutie mark is a popsicle.

My Little Pony: A New Generation[]
Sander appears in background during the song Gonna Be My Day. He then appears attending the Canterlogic seminar. After the seminar, he can be seen among the ponies running for Izzy Moonbow. Later in the film he can be seen looking for guidance from Sprout and is seen during the song Danger, Danger.
My Little Pony: Make Your Mark[]
Sander is a background pony who is often seen with his husband Diggy and his adopted son Ferris.

In Cutie Blossom Bash, he is seen cheering on Ferris with Diggy by his side.

In Roots of All Evil Pt. 1, Sander and Diggy are amongst the ponies panicking around Maretime Bay of Opaline's attack. They are present when the Mane 6 and Sparky arrived back to Maretime Bay atop dragons. Diggy can be seen defending Sander, putting his hoof in front of him. He and Diggy end up getting their cutie marks stolen.

In Roots of All Evil Pt. 2, after their cutie marks are restored, he can be seen cuddling with Diggy and Ferris.

- His name is not mentioned in the show but is mentioned in the dubbed credits of Make Your Mark and Nightmare on Mane Street.
- According to SnookumsGal, one of the animators on Make Your Mark, he is gay and is married to his fellow Earth Pony Diggy, who frequently appears by his side. Both share an adopted unicorn son named Ferris. [1]
- Diggy and Sander both share the distinction of being the first LGBTQ+ characters to appear in My Little Pony: Make Your Mark. However, they are not the first to appear in canon overall, as the G5 comics prior had featured Cherry, and G4 MLP had previously featured several LGBTQ+ characters such as Lyra Heartstrings and Bon Bon, Aunt Holiday and Auntie Loftie and Sunset Shimmer.
- Sander shares a similar character model and hairstyle to Balloon Pony, though they are clearly not the same character as they have distinctly different coat and mane colors and appear in completely separate shots from each other in A New Generation.
- Secrets of Starlight is the only special of Make Your Mark he doesn't appear in.
