Rufus (also known as the Great Hoofdini) is a male Earth pony in the fifth generation of My Little Pony. He serves as minor recurring character who exclusively appears in My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale.
Personality[]
Rufus appears gruff and irritable at first, but he quickly calms down after a gift of tea and biscuits from Hitch Trailblazer, after which he is revealed to be polite and appreciative. He speaks with a Cockney accent. Rufus is often shown doing different kind of jobs, like magician in One Trick Pony, guards in Bridlewoodstock (Tell Your Tale) and Moon Festival, selling sunglasses in Foal Me Once.
Sometime between Zipp Gets Her Wings and Nightmare Roommate, Rufus was apparently arrested and held in custody for unknown reasons. He is the only known imprisoned character in G5, though it is unknown if he was ever convicted in a court. He seemingly got released from custody soon after, being shown waving his hair in Welcome to Mane Melody.
Appearance[]
He is a pale aqua earth pony with darker hooves and slate gray irises. He has a somewhat scruffy, dark teal mane and tail with gray-blue streaks. His Cutie Mark is a stylized Gemini symbol in two shades of green. He has a large, squared muzzle, thick eyebrows, and eyebags.
As the "Great Hoofdini" he wears a dark teal, indigo, purple, violet, pink and magenta, cape with yellow moons and a big sun printed in the center, and a matching dark teal top hat with a purple band and pink, yellow. green and blue six-pointed stars on it.

Season 1[]
Rufus makes his first appearance in Sisters Take Flight when Fifi crashes into his Sun glasses hut. In Nightmare Roommate, Rufus is in the Maretime Bay jail as Pipp comes to complain about Izzy as a roommate to Hitch. In Welcome to Mane Melody Rufus gets a new hairstyle at the salon, in Foal Me Once, Rufus' sunglasses hut is robbed. In Dumpster Diving, Izzy looks at Rufus' keychain holder. In Neighfever Rufus wears a gas mask alongside Flare as Neighfever spreads through Maretime Bay, he then gets in line for Dahlia's flower necklaces. In On Your Cutie Marks Rufus is both crowds over announcements about the Equestria Games.
