Discord is an ancient male Draconequus and the self-proclaimed "Lord of Chaos" in the fifth generation of My Little Pony who exclusively appears in My Little Pony issue 2 until issue 10. He was a friend of the Guardians of Friendship, especially Fluttershy. He currently lives in the catacombs below the ruins of Canterlot.
Personality[]
Discord was once the cruel, insolent, despotic and narcissistic Master of Chaos, but after reforming thanks of Fluttershy's kindness and friendship, he mellowed out and became kinder and more helpful, but still volatile, arrogant, manipulative and somewhat unpredictable. He tried to be a good friend and did some very good things, but still caused a lot of trouble due to his naturally chaotic nature,.
Discord's current personality is complicated; he can be nice and friendly, but can still be very sneaky, devious and manipulative. He appears to have become much more reclusive, solitary and sentimental, as a result of losing his magic and his best friend, Fluttershy, who he still misses very much. However, he is arrogant and somewhat vain, as he thinks very highly of himself and often boasts to the point of exaggerating. He also still enjoys parties and drama.
However, as a result of past conflicts between ponies, Discord has come to the rather irrational conclusion that the world will be better off without magic, which he now views as a source of conflict and division. He has therefore resolved to put a permanent end to all magic in a noble, but misguided attempt to keep peace among ponies.
Appearance[]
As an ancient male Draconequus, Discord looks like a mix of many different creatures. His head is horse-like, with a deer antler on the right side and a severed blue goat horn on the left side. He also has one long fang, different-sized pupils, a snake tongue, a goat beard, and white bushy eyebrows. Discord has the right arm of a lion, the left claw of an eagle with a severed fourth digit, the right leg of a lizard, and the left leg of a goat. In addition, he has a bat's right wing, a Pegasus' left wing, a horse's mane, and a dragon-like snake's tail with a white tail tuft. The shape of his body resembles that of a snake. As a result of many years of age, Discord now has long, white hair.
Discord bears a resemblance to a Chinese dragon, a creature often depicted with a serpentine body, facial hair, feline claws, and antlers.
