Buried in a Good Book is the tenth episode in Season 2 of My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale, and the eightieth episode overall. It was released on April 18, 2024.
Synopsis[]
Misty accidentally sends herself and her friends to the dimension of Questopia. Their only way out is to defeat Zantorp the Furious.
Plot[]
Misty rejoins the Mane 6 at the Brighthouse to show her new "butterfly flutter by" spell. The spell goes awry when the single magical butterfly activates a portal spell in the book, sucking all six ponies and Sparky.
The Mane Six find themselves in a strange dimension and wearing new attire. Sunny is dressed as a wizard, Hitch as a frog prince, Izzy as a mermaid princess, Pipp as an ice princess, Misty as a rabbit, Zipp as a red riding hood, and Sparky as a knight.
They are met by a Book Fairy who informs them they are in the land of Questopia and in order to escape, the Mane Six are required to complete multiple quests and defeat Zantorp the Furious. She wishes them luck and departs.
One of their encounters is a Gingerbread Monster house with spider legs. The monster attacks the ponies, who make a run for it. Activating her alicorn magic, Sunny flies around the monster. As it fires sugar balls at Sunny, she deflects one of them back, causing the monster to get smashed into pieces.
Zipp find herself racing against a competitive dragon, who chases her. No matter how narrow or uneven the ground and walls are, the dragon is able to smash through everything. However, Zipp manages to reach the finishing line first.
The Mane Six reach a corridor with trapped floor tiles. Stepping on the wrong one causes it to fall. Pipp finds a pattern and dances a path to a cave entrance. The other ponies follow the path parallel. Hitch and Sparky however get the path wrong and have to make a dash for the cave entrance, while the floor collapses behind them.
The Mane Six finally make it to Zantorp's cave. Zantorp the dragon is not pleased to see intruders in his cave and lunges at them. Sunny uses her magic against Zantorp, but he hurls her against the cave wall and hurtles boulders at the ponies. Hitch conjures up thick vines to entangle Zantorp, but he simply breaks free. Izzy tries to put the big dragon in a daze with whirling butterflies, but he snaps out of it and stomps at her.
The ponies take cover behind a large rock except Misty, who invokes her inner magic, which allows her to see inside Zantorp's mind. Zantorp carves a picture on the wall, which depicts that Zantorp is lonely and longs for friends. Realizing Zantorp's true feelings, Misty relates to him and offers to be his friend. Zantorp happily accepts.
The ponies socialize with Zantorp. After Hitch ends his story with a laugh, the Book Fairy arrives, but is surprised to see that the ponies have survived. With their quests complete, they Mane Six can now return home. Misty promises Zantorp future visits, much to his delight. With that, the Book Fairy sends them back home through a portal.
